Description

The Lace Frame is a fabric-covered wooden frame that lets a child practise lacing on a flat surface, at a comfortable size for small hands, before trying it on their own clothes.

The direct aim is care of self and independence in dressing; the indirect aim is the fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination and sequencing that later support writing. The activity is self-correcting: the fastening either works or it does not, so the child needs no adult correction as the laces are crossed and drawn through the eyelets in order.

It can be bought on its own, or together with the other dressing frames to build a full set. Like all our materials, it is sourced and quality-checked by Montessori for Kenya for use in AMI/AMS-aligned classrooms, home environments and teacher training settings across Kenya.
