The Montessori approach

Why the materials matter

Montessori materials are designed so that a child can work alone and notice their own mistakes. Each one isolates a single idea, such as size, weight, sound or sequence, and invites repetition for its own sake.

They are scaled for small hands, made from natural materials where possible, and arranged from simple to complex. That is why quality matters: a well-made set lasts for years and feels right in the child's hands.

About AMI

Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) was founded in 1929 by Dr Maria Montessori with the mission to support the natural development of the human being from birth to maturity, enabling children to become the transforming elements of society, leading to a harmonious and peaceful world.
